Yeah, I think the "horrid" one looks fine,I quite liked the angle except I noticed the ashtrays gone, um, I need that, may ave to rethink where I might want to put my stereo!

So I'm now thinking I may put something in to connect the I pod to, got fed up with no music today and been out using it with the earbuds in.... Bit strange driving around not being able to hear anything but my music... Kept finding myself on the wrong gear.. And of corse if the window is open everyone I pass can hear me singing at the top of my voice!!!! Laughing so a little distracting all round

Hi D1noh. That radio console, how tall is it? Would it be possible to fit a plate to it to then drill holes for instruments?

The only problem is that I would need one 3 3/8" hole which I imagine might be too much.

I make it 3 1/4 but tapers off at the top and sits over the curve of the dash at the bottom

HJ Just wondered if you got around to making the stereo bosses with your vacuum moulder? Really want to Fit a stereo all snug to my new hijet. Have thought about fabricating some light aluminum plate to do the same thing but dont want to risk shocking myself with dodgy wiring.

Fraid not, the 101 other things have come up first!!

I just fitted a slim head unit straight in the dash like this:-

Quite an intresting place for the radio that i spotted on ebay. Course it would be more awkward to get to than the normal place for Hijet radios. (Which from what i've seen of people driving hi-jets its bad enough!)

Once I've made the mould I can then make as many as I like so if you are interested in having one shout up!
They will be in black plastic, I only have gloss black in stock at the moment which I will use for the first test ones, but if there is demand for them I'll source some plastic which closely matches the dashboard surround.

Did you have any sucess with this?? Any pics if you did as I want to get a cd player in my van Smile
