That looks well smart, my favourite colour.
What alloys are you using?
They really set it off.
Any issues with the front wheels rubbing on full lock, or the side doors catching the rears?
Where did you get the adaptors from, are they expensive?
Sorry for all the questions.

No worries about the questions. I prefer the look of matt black to gloss. The alloys are of a bmw e3o, 4 x100 pcd, with 195/60/r14 tires. The front arch had to be cut out slightly at the front along with the corner of the door, so wheels dont rub on full lock forward, have just bought some mini wide wheels arches so once I get around to fitting them i'll be looking into it. Actually didnt think about the rear doors when I fitted them but fortunately they clear the wheels by about 4" so not a problem there.

I made the wheel spacers myself at work, I fabricated them to use the original hijet wheel nuts to bolt spacer to hub but you have to cut about 5mm off the original stud as they are too long, and then bought in new studs and wheel nuts to attach the wheel, all using the same wheel brace, which makes it easier. Overall once wheels were fitted they only protrude the outside of the body by 2", but it provides hell of alot of better handling, especially round corners, also she managed to reach 85mph earlier, I reckon she would've pushed 90.

The interior is the next to get a revamp.

When I bought my hijet, the middle row of seats were missing, but still had the rear bench seat, so I moved this forward giving boot space, and it still folds forward flat to the front seats if needed for the extra space.

Sprayed the jet myself with rattle cans believe it or not, cost about £30 for 12 500ml cans off ebay, looked at professional spray job, but was gonna cost £400-£500. It took me about a day and a half, luckily though my boss let me use the workshop over a weekend, fortunatley as it was already silver just key'd the van up with wet and dry and sprayed over the top, it's not a professional job, but I was pleased with the overall finish, but I like the rugged, rough round the edges look, bad ass!! recently just fitted wide wheel arches and tinted the back windows out too.
Yep, she's a hardtail, dmr trailstar, just finished building it, from the frame up, that's matt black too with red components, my mini bike is black too, ya think i like black!! Laughing
The hijet is dead handy for transporting the bikes, and quite spacious for sleeping in I found the other night, I removed the rear bench and layed out a camp bed, the carpet is too dirty to sleep on at the mo, also found out that where i've moved the bench seat forward, when you lower the front seat's backwards you can lay all the way across the drivers seat to the back, many a sleeping option. Hopefully of to wales over the bank holiday to hit some trails over there.

A few pics of moving the bench seat forward.
Stains on the carpet are what you get from carrying around muddy mini bikes!!

I'm loving that tail pipe on the hijet - cheeky!!

This action van is so cool in the matt black on those rims. It wants drawing on like a chalk board

Likewise down here, two days of sunshine.

After your subtle bucket and sponge comment I actually cleaned my van today.

Proper job! T-cut all the stains back, touched up the stone chips, back to blacked all the plastic bits. If it wasn't dark now I'd do some photos :p

Great Job

Post by Ednorris1 on Tue Aug 23, 2016 5:57 pm

Looks really good man, did you do the paintwork yourself?

i'm looking to get my van done, can't decide if i want to get it wrapped, sprayed or the other option is a DIY rubber spray which would be different.

check it out (cardipuk)

Lets have some everyones thoughts

Very Happy
