Should you trust an answer you get off someone hear say?

Check the engine manual!

http://www.daihatsuhijet.co.uk/pdf_manuals/Workshop%20Manual%20-%20Daihatsu%203%20cyl%20993cc%20EFI.pdf

Spark Plugs page 77, gaps and spec.

But because i'm too helpful here is a chop out of the manual:-

change of plan and decided to change the thermostat as its always had a crap heater and I have had to sling a cardboard muff over the rad to get some heat. Laughing

I now have one more thermostat than I started with! no wonder it was rubbish Rolling Eyes

Early signs are ok, temp gauge sitting halfway now and not affected by driving at 40-50mph for any length of time which would drag the already reluctant needle down to just about nowt.

Test will be a bit of traffic and see if she gets to warm.

(Chuckling, imagining HJ tearing his hair out)

My '95 993 heater has been useless this winter - reckon the matrix core is clugged up, am tempted to Fernox it when the weather gets warmer - but then I'll probably forget about it until is cold again and then won't want to do it!

Laughing I kept promising myself I would do it last winter and never did. In the end it took 10 mins.

Did cross my mind. Mind you when I brought it it had a leaking rad. I kept that going for over a year thanks to chemical metal! Laughing then bit the bullet and fitted a replacement when it fell to bits. the things we do eh?
Took it for a run and so far all seems good, so fingers crossed.

like I said, its been long overdue I shelled out a few bob on her Laughing

Should have the rest nailed by Saturday then make the 4 hour trek down to Devon next Thursday.
