Garage cleanout

Post by HighlyJetted on Sat May 11, 2013 10:05 pm

Spent the evening tidying up my workshop as it had got to the point where I couldn't find anything and there was swarf everywhere.

How many times a year do you have to clear out your workshop?

Do you work tidy, or are you more of a chaos worker?

OH DEAR !! Definitely red faced Embarassed too down here on the Isle of Wight HJ and its got nothing to do with the beautiful weather we have all been enjoying.

I started a huge tidy-up last week cos like you I couldn't find tools I knew I had and parts I had just put down but had now "magically disapeared".

Mind you these days a lot of that is " age related senility" elephant

Yep, much the same Matt--- I get to the point where enough is enough and have to have a complete purge of the workshop and lo-and-behold masses of "E-Bay stuff emerges". Great!!

Double whammy reaally. I am glad I am not the only one. Thanks for that Revelation Matt.

Guilty! Embarassed
My garage is so full of bikes & crap, that you have to wriggle & limbo to get from one end to the other.
I had to move 4 bikes yesterday, just to dig out my welder! Rolling Eyes

I HATE working in chaos. Over the winter period due to an injury I could hardly work, so my workshop ended up in chaos.
My problem was last November that due to an infected cut on my knee sustained while doing some plumbing in someones disgustingly filthy bathroom I cut my knee on a rusty nail on the floor and after 5 days I ended up in Hospital late one Sunday night with scepticaemia which was so
bad they told me I may have to have my right leg amputated below the knee.

Damn scary. Fortunately after 4 7day double doses of Penicillin I was able to walk again and couldnt drive at all for 2 weeks( which was intolerable ).

I was barely able to work for two and a half months and hardly earnt a penny and still have difficulty kneeling on my right knee. Consquently the workshop ended up in chaos because I had a Romahome stuck in there which I couldnt work on and only just recently finished and sold.

So now I have no excuse for not keeping it tidy --- but I'm sure I will think of a few as my workload steadily increases again.

I just hope I can take a leaf out your book Logi and keep it tidy. jocolor
