Post by Guest on Wed Sep 18, 2013 12:29 pm

WHAT A FLIPPING AWFUL morning !!! Two disputes --- One from Five Star over the (Cool 52mm Revcounters I was supposed to have ordered has been resolved and closed and one from yesterday that I cancelled due to non payment of Paypal Invoice I sent has also been closed  but has wasted over 6 hours of my time sorting both out.

So with Paypal up and running again can send some more orders out. Yippee. Thanks for help,  Ideas and private messages all helping me to sort these
Mountains out that are Molehills to you Computer literate ones . Woody.

Actually Peter I think I will have -- a lemonade. Cider went to my head not being
a drinking person ... But oh boy it gave my agro a different perspective.
Done and dusted and catching up on much lost sleep.

Thanks LR.  Its not purchases I am too fussed with by Card. I wont give out my card number
over the phone except to three companies that I regularly buy from and trust. Using the Business Credit Card gives you security whereas all my other cards are Debit and I think that it doesn't give the same benefits as a Business Credit Card. But who am I to know. ??

I am going into my Barclays Bank tomorrow to see my Manager there who has the unfortunate name of Adrian Nobbs ---- and that he isn't.  I am going to see him about getting a credit card system so I can take payments over the phone or mobile phone payments .
Dont know much about it at the moment but by the end of the day hopefully will.

Gives me an alternative to Pay pal and both are paid into my Business Account.

Card machines cost a fair bit to have the use of.

Intuit pay is a pretty cool option and I have been recommended it by quite a few people. But you need some form of internet connection via a dongle or a phone line.

Card machine you need a phone line, or one of those stupid mobile phone network based ones that are signal and network dependant.

Either way, shop around when it comes to card payment systems as they all try to rip you off on the fee's and the percentages. You tend to find they all play the match each other game when you say what other offers you've had.

Like post franking machines - no one advertises a straight up price, it's all on the deal making.

You honestly should have a go on Mastermind Matt as your spectrum of
knowledge is very broad . You truly amaze me at times for a lad -- sorry--
man of your age.
Thank you for all that information and yes phone line in most cases or just internet is needed.I think that the system Barrclays use is called Pingit or something like that. I am not getting out of bed to find the details at this hour.
I will be wiser about it later today after seeing Adrian. The more alternatives one can offer that aren't as expensive as Pay-Pal the better.
In theory !! Will explore the avenues and also just thought about my good
mate Paul. He is a Commercial Business Adviser. He would be able to
suggest something I am sure.
Thanks for your advice Matt. Most kind.

i been looking at card machines for a while but i just cannot justify the cost, pinget does work but is still not very popular and not many ppl have it yet so a bit hit and miss atm, luckily for me i mostly deal with cash or cheque but obviously not the best idea for internet transations, i would love to know how you get on woody as i said i have been looking at taking card payments for ages, especially on some of my bigger jobs customers like the piece of mind and security of card payment rather than handing over £££££,s of cash

Thanks Matt. That is the idea I had in mind. That looks exactly the sort of thing I was looking for.
How do you go about finding all these things you come up with ?
I don't know where to start. Hopeless Horace should be my email
address shouldn't it ??
Still one has to start learning somewhere and I will have a go at most
things.
Made a boob about Bank Manager appointment--- its NEXT Thursday.
 Stupid boy Pike !!!

Well thank you very much for that tip Matt. I just went online to Intuit and filled in the form and got instant approval and they are sending Card Reader in 2-3 days . Links to your Mobile by Bluetooth and can be done over the computer online. Superb !!!!

Mind you the woman I spoke to--- Mari --- was about as much use as a Chocolate Teapot.
Didnt have much of a clue about anything -- no personality at all and altogether a very poor advert for her Company.

At least I have a more versatile way of being paid now -- both for my Handyman and Roofing work and particularly for the spares. BRILLIANT !!!!

Thanks very much for that Matt.
