One tatty Hijet - but it's mine

Post by StvC on Sat Sep 28, 2013 4:45 pm

Here she is as I bought her, lord knows what happened to all the lacquer! Saves me having to do it prior to respray. The interior was full of brick dust and sand but luckily the seats were removed first. I had the carpet out and it's already looking a lot cleaner, will jet wash that soon and once I've sourced the fixings and bolted the seats and seatbelts in we'll have a decent base for something fun I hope.

It's silver they seem to always be trouble when it comes to keeping the paint on.

Yeah, think I'm gonna rustoleum it before winter sets in. Gotta sort other issues first though. Got seats and seat belts back in.
Can I just check that the rear - rear seat belts are not inertia. They're so weird, like 3point but not seen them static like this. They won't fit the kids unless you leave a massive loop.

Yes the ones on the bench seat are not inertia and just a 3 point harness but I think if you get some (very) front belts you could convert to inertia I was going to do this but then we very rarely have all the seats in so never got round to trying it.
