FBS2S's 1300 pickup

Post by FrontBackSide2Side on Thu Nov 28, 2013 4:49 pm

Just thought id start a thread blogging the progress with my 2003 1300 pickup. I collected it last sunday and drove the 4 hour journey back with no overheating or any other major problem. I've got a few small issues to sort out but i am very happy with my purchase!

Its not too bad, the green paint hasnt been done very well though which is a shame. I've got a friend coming to have a look at it next week and he'll give me a quote for a paint job so i'll see what he comes back with.

Yes Logi you are right, I've got my eye on a set I like, will have to be after christnas though Sad

Today I have swapped the fuel tank for a brand new one. The old one was leaking at the seam. It wasn't too bad a job to do to be honest Smile

Yep its the one off ebay Smile probably paid over the odds for it but it meant I managed to buy my pickup which was advertised with a leaking tank for a decent price Smile

replaced the fuel sender for a brand new one over the weekend. I decided to leave the tank in situ this time and remove the bed to gain access to the sender. I now have a working fuel gauge but I seem to have done something to the rear lights. Seems like a bad earth or something, I don't think the connectors liked being disconnected!

Did a couple of jobs on the truck today. I swapped the window mechanism and once it was out it was obvious what was wrong with the old one.

Whilst I was at it I fitted my wind deflectors. Really happy with them Smile

I'm also waiting on my OBD scan tool to come from off ebay as I have had my CEL come on permanently Sad

Today I got round to fitting my foglights, really pleased with them although I haven't wired them up. I don't think the factory wiring is present like it is on the vans.

I also fitted my Piaggio battery cover which tidies the side up a little bit.

Thanks guys. My wind deflectors are the heko ones, I think they are a bit smaller than the ones from Micks garage. I ordered them directly from Heko Smile

Been removing the LPG kit whilst trying to get to the bottom of my overheating problems today, pretty much gutted the truck lol. My Mrs posted this pic on facebook an entitled it "Scrapheap Challenge" which I thought was a bit rude Laughing
