Bless me, Forum, for I have sinned.....

...and bought another van today (making 4 in total) but it's not a Daihatsu Hijet. I'm sorry, but I couldn't resist. Advertized for £3k, I got it for 2.4 and drove it about 100 miles home without any problems.

I hope I won't be banned from this excellent resource. It's a...
Spoiler:
2008 Piaggio Porter with under 18,000 miles!

Tidy looking wee van Smile Is it an addition to the fleet or a replacement for one of the others?

Thanks. Probably replacement for the '95 993 - and '98 993 is going to be up for sale shortly.

I reckon this van never had a spare wheel fitted - no carrier, no jack, and the holes for the jack-handle clips and carrier-lowering bolt have black plastic circles stuck over them. Am thinking the spare must have been an optional extra!

I would never look down on those with older, more common vehicles of mixed parentage, Oldie!  Wink

However, if I hear someone singing 'Postman Pat' again I'll probably run them over.

Is that what the 2 P's on the badge stand for?  Razz

Looks tidy though, i thought mine was low mileage at 33k, this one is hardly run in  Smile

Just turned 26k now, blimey, that's over 8k miles in a year!

Progress update - fitted dab/cd/stereo in past month, used the console from my '95 993. Door cards even had semi cut-outs for the speakers, easy job. Instructions for sticking DAB aerial to screen insist the screen is warm, so sticking to USB stick for now.

Fitted a LED bulb in the reversing light on (I think) Ryan's recommendation but it's not that bright. Yet to add foil, but I think I'll need another lamp to get enough rearward illumination.

Today wired up a couple of LED's in a box in the glovebox, so can finally see what I'm rummaging for in the dark, with a fridge-type switch which operates when the flap is opened.

Have a high-level brake light to fit next (all the way from Hong Kong!), prob after Weds as have a few days off(ish). Found an old bottle of red colour-cut left over from my Carina estate (sold in 2003) - wonder if it will still be any good 12 years on?

Also plan to fit an additional light from my spares van in the back, triggered by opening the O/S sliding door. Must tighten alternator belt - squeals like a pig when cold and a load's on.
