Lombardini timing issues

Post by Teen39 on Fri Dec 20, 2013 8:45 am

Just realised I posted this in the wrong place before.

Hi I have a hijet which is currently off road. We have a lombardini 4 cylinder Diesel engine but we can not get the injectors timed can anyone help? The engine head gasket was fixed but the mechanic we had was unable to time it for us.

From what I can read in the above manuals it is a specialist task requiring specialist tools.

If neither of the cam belt /pump pulleys has been taken off, and they were marked with tipex before strip down it should still run if put back together.

But I think the pulleys are tapered shaft fitment with no woodruff keys to enable precise timing adjustment. So if they have been removed it needs timing from scratch.

Any mechanic should know what they are f***ing with before they left you in this hole.

The same LDW FOCS engine is found in plant equipment, so if you ring round loads of diesel specialists and plant service places you will find someone who could do it. But they may not be interested in taking on a half finished job as how do they know how well the other half was done.

Thanks for that. I will try and find somewhere. I hadn't thought of plant service places. Everyone says he should of finished the job but I think he genuinely thought he could finish it.
