Headlights and the MOT

Post by bushwhacker on Mon Jan 27, 2014 4:18 pm

Does anyone know whether headlights have to be E marked in order to pass the MOT?

Yes afaik, but you'd need a real arsehole of a tester to fail it on that unless the beam was out.

They need to be E marked to be road legal but will not be checked on an MOT.

After reading the MOT manual again, I don't think they need to be E marked at all as long as they are adjusted correctly.

No E marking is not an MOT requirement from memory.

It is inspected for an SVA though.
