help please

Post by waz on Tue Feb 25, 2014 6:28 pm

wifes car is a Fiat Doblo, for the past week stating first thing in the morning you would think it had a flat battery. I have had it checked at the garage and they said the battery is ok and can't find anything draining it so now I am at a loss. Any ideas or should I try a auto electrician.

Connection, connection, connection? Am sure you checked battery terminals, but dodgy lead to starter, earth to engine, earth to body joints could give same symptoms.

Don't rule the battery out completely as i've had batteries tested in the past and been told they are ok then once they have been changed the problem is cured.

I've also had a battery that tests fine but is actually not . My money would be on that or the starter wiring

Why not swop your Hijet battery into it for a while and see the difference?

Well according to the book the battery is not charging but I would have thought that the garage would have pick that fault up assuming that it could be the alternator at fault. Mind you the oil leak they were supposed to fix is still leaking so back up there tomorrow.
