Hijet show van.

Post by pw171 on Tue Apr 15, 2014 8:49 am

Hi everyone.

Thought i would introduce my self and my pick up.

This van has been around a while now but i have had it about 2 years now. I use it as my car to and from work where it always gets a lot of attention.
But what this pickup does in its spare time is the best bit.

The pick up is lowered all round about 50mm running wheel spacers and adaptors with minilite wheels. it has extra wide mini style arches on it. The diff is welded which makes it interesting in the rain. It has a bucket seat and harness.

The truck has preformed at many car and bike shows over the country but its biggest show is only 7 weeks away. It will be providing entertainment at the isle of man TT as part of the Vertical Trix stunt display team.

What methods have you used to lower your truck? I might have to pinch the idea of those side panels too, they look awesome!  Cool

We are indeed honoured to have such a Venerable Vehicle on the Forum. I think everyone has echoed my sentiments about your superb truck.

It really must be a bit of a handful in the wet but in the dry must be a pig as it would I suspect want to go in a straight line and you would have heads turning at the noise of the squealing tyres even when driven sensibly around the town.

Presumably you have got a 1600 in it ?? Any head or cam mods to it.?? So many questions I would like to ask and I am sure everyone else would like to know a lot more about you and your pickup.

So when you have time PLEASE do us proud and give us a few more tasty morsels . Woody.

Welded diffs are pretty cool for driving, but a bit annoying for parallel parking Smile

Parking it is a issue but to be honest I don't take it to super markets no where to put the shopping lol.

The welded diff is a handful in the wet but in the dry it is like a go kart. But a lot of that is down to it being lowered and widened with wheel spacers and the minilites.

Its still only a 1.3 but i do have the bits to upgrade it to a 1.6 bar the mx 5 injectors.
Anti tramp bars and more steering lock is next.
