Yeah, don't get that RAC man out again, he's a dick. There's no rotor arm on the 1.3 either. What age is yours? You need an OBD reader if it's new enough or look up reading the flash codes on here.

993cc does have a rotor arm and cap.

Do you know if you have an engine warning light that works on the dashboard yet?

CB42 has that crappy dizzy setup with the weird curved toothed gearbox underneath which is a bitch to get timed up right if you take it all apart. Don't get me wrong it doable - but you have to do a bit of thinking trying to work out which way to move the toothed/gears if you run out of adjustment.... then you go the wrong way and get even more confused!!

There must be a proper way to do it but I've never bothered to read the 993cc engine manual Sad

Ok Update starting ok but not running perfectly and as my only vehicle she has to be reliable.
Son fitting new dizzy and rotor arm tomorrow and might still need a new petrol gauge. And to top it all one bolt head snapped off on removal; Oh the joys of an older vehicle (I was an Imp club member before and still have a project husky)

Husky? Wow, bet they're even harder to get bits for than a 'jet!. Cheap petrol guage is a piece of paper on which you write the mileage when you fill up - then add 150 and fill up again when you get to that mileage. (Doesn't work if the paper blows out of van when you open door, though!)

Are you just ignoring my engine warning light questions?

And your just going to change the dizzy cap with no knowledge if that is actually the problem?

Before you buy a new one visually inspect the insides of the cap and arm, it might be sweet.

If your warning light actually works then we can do the paperclip test and see if its trigged any fault codes, which may point you in the direction of the fault.
