Its not that straight forwards.

PCD adapters will space out the wheels by about 25mm.

Then the wheels you are fitting will also have a typical offset which is too much for a hijet.

Before you know it, the whole tyre will be outside the arch.

My MOT garage says that's no longer a fail.

Don't think its ever been a fail, but I don't really know.

It's against The Road Vehicles (Construction and Use) Regulations 1986 - e.g. the legislation they use for charging you with driving a vehicle not fit for the road.

But that isn't the main worry. Very Happy

The vehicle will drive terribly. You are destroying the steering/kingpin inclination angle geometry.

This will stop the vehicle from wanting to drive straight ahead, it will not want to self centre.

You will also find the front wheel bearing will not last very long as the extra leverage you are applying to them.

Also due to the extra spacing, you will find the front tyres will collide with the bottom corners of the wheel arches when turning the steering wheel. Which is a serious issue as you could tear big gashes out of the tyres.

Thanks for the advice,As I'm a panel beater, body work issues are not a problem.I only use the van twice a week, so I thought I would make it a project and tart it up.
