It's rare, doesn't make it valuable tho. BUT, five bills isn't much, so buy it, and save it, cos it's rare as rocking horse teeth. A mate collects shite Leyland cars, Maxi, Ambassador, Ital, loads of them, but if he didn't, who would?

No it'll never be worth thousands but i think if it was mint and on the road it'd be worth a grand. Not really an appreciating classic but a classic all the same.

I am very surprised that he hasn't got fed up with waiting for you to make up your mind.
If you have got the cash then I would buy it son.
If you can't afford it, there is no shame in that. But if you can't it would be good to let another Forum member buy it and save it.

This gets wierder and wierder. Go and wave a fistful of twenties under his nose and you will soon see if it is up for sale.

Oh that's a shame. Bit of a disappointment for you. How much do they value it at?

I have got too many projects now but it would be a lovely van to tidy up and run occasionally.

90% of me really want to do it, but biggest worry I'm suffereing is the fact most of them over hear turned to rot. so there will be very little parts for them (I seam to recall HJ saying that somewhere on the thread of another eight fifty.)

How south? Past Birmingham?

For the record - I don't want it!

I'm trying to get rid of all my Hijets.

Go on go for it you silly boy. You know you want to. You'll be kicking yourself if you don't.
Mind is the wife kicking you for buying another one worse? Decisions, decisions.

Hmmm!! As much  as I dislike the the Moggy Minor,  it would be, if it is a sound one, a better financial investment.

Either as a restore to original project or as a well modified Custom Car project.
The beauty of the Moggy for Customises is the wings that lend themselves to massive flares but the huge square uncluttered engine bay. You can get big V8 lumps in there very easily.
Originally when it was designed, in 1947  the pre-production models had a Boxer style Flat Four engine but it turned out to be very thirsty on petrol.
As it was only a couple of years after the war, with fuel rationing in mind, it was decided at the last minute  to go into production in 1948 with the old Morris 8 side valve engine. They weren't exactly fuel friendly so goodness knows what the flat four engine's consumption was.

It's in darn good night nick for a 1983 Mk1 Romahome body inside and out. My first one was a 1983 Honda Acty based Mk1, one owner from new and 49,000 genuine. And the price??  Just £50!!!
I had it and used for nearly 2 years and sold it to a Brit living in the South  of France for £3,750.
He flew up from France and met me off the Ferry,  paid me cash and drove it back to the South of France.
