Noise insulation

Post by Scarface GTti on Mon Apr 20, 2015 9:09 pm

I'm turning my attentions to the inside of my pickup now and will be carpeting it. Has anyone ever tried noise insulating the inside with dynomat or similar. I was thinking of laying it on every surface and then carpeting on top. Thoughts?

I've never tried dynomat but being a cheapskate, opted for sticking strips of flashband to the inside of doors, panels, bits of floor etc, followed by bubble foil insulation. It definitely softened some of the noise and the doors sound far less crappy when closing. Still pretty noisy on the go though!

Another vote for the flashingtape, bubble foil insulation and for extra cheapness finished off with a layer of fleece material in a fetching shade of light grey.

Yup...Flashband/tape will do the same job as the much more expensive branded stuff from the likes of Dynamat etc.

Ok guys, sounds like a solution. I was looking around the interior and I think I may even stick carpet to any painted surface to try and tidy it up. The only thing that looks like its going to cost a bit is to get the seats refoamed and recovered but I can handle that seeing as I've saved so much money and doing all the other works myself.
