Hi from an idiot, apparently

Post by Roadie on Wed Apr 29, 2015 12:43 pm

Hey everyone, I've lurked on here since just before buying my Hijet Romahome a year ago, getting all the facts and information then disregarding most of it... As the title suggests, I got the diesel. What can I say, it's pretty terrible. Slow, noisy, not great on fuel, and I absolutely love it. Just thought I'd say hello before having to come on and beg you all for help when it goes wrong.

Here's to the adventure!

Better still, take the body off,  insure the pickup Fire and  Theft, set fire to it on top of a cliff and push it off.

Then do as you were told in the first place and buy a 1300 and put the Romahome body on that.    Stupid boy!!!

Haha you guys are so mean! Surely all Hijet lives have value!

It's just about to hit 50k miles and I'm quite good at taking care of mechanical things... hopefully it won't have too many issues. Only problems it's had so far have been chassis related: I was driving to the MOT test centre, heard a stone hit the passenger wheel well (I thought). Got to the test place, they start looking over it, turns out the big bolt that holds the passenger wheel hub on had completely sheared, no idea what was actually stopping it from completely ripping away from the body. Oh and rust, rust takes all my cars away from me in the end Sad I need to learn to weld.

You are going to need another Stub Shaft, 32mm nut and Washer then. I have them on the shelf for £25 +£5 First Class Post and packing. You are the third one this week!!!
I am sending out two this morning.

If you would like one then email me your mobile number and name and I will contact you today. Woody

Blimey, I didn't realise it was a common thing. That's a bit worrying.
Appreciate the offer, but the MOT place sourced one and fitted it before doing the test, they seem to be decent but I will have to go back to look at the receipt to see how much they charged for doing it.
Do you have leaf springs? I don't think I need them just yet, was just pricing, since the current ones are a bit on the flat side. Can't imagine they like always having so much weight on the back, I worry how much they'll take before snapping. First thing I did after buying it - got as much weight out as possible. Romahome superleggera comparitively now!

Well I sincerely hope that they didn't fit new parts. The Castellated nut will probably be near what I charge for the lot.
I have just supplied a a Spark Igniter for £75. He was quoted £557 from the Dealer.
