Post by Raggy on Tue Oct 20, 2015 8:09 pm

Had Skylark for a few weeks now and loving it. Thought I had best get around to putting a few photos up of her.

That's in superb nick for the age, well done!

There's a bit of a design flaw with the garage, though......

Yes, it is in good nick, was originally the rubbish silver grey that at some point ( about 2013 as far as I can see from V5's) was resprayed, not the best prep work but holding up so far. Trouble is I have no idea what blue it actually is, think a trip to auto paint shop is in order see if they can help with some touchup paint. Runs fine so far and has bits still needing to be done but overall I'm so far, very happy, its 17 years old after all so cant really complain.
Fortunately the garage is not mine (the previous vans owners) so the design faults are just fine! Its about 4" too tall to fit in mine!

Yes, very proud of it so far. As I said I can be a bit 'anal' about bits and pieces but thats just me. Although it looks not bad, I intend renewing the internal wall covering (its looking a bit grubby and tired), recovering the cooker unit, renewing the leisure wiring and adding a split charge, sorting out some of the seating (recovering the cushions), adding curtains but all this will take time. Just enjoying driving it at the moment. Daihatsu decals are my next project and looking at the leisure electrics but doing the wall covering may be best to do first so I dont have to disturb them again.
This van is just what I needed, a small project to take my mind off work and escape reality!
The seatbelt stalks are brill Woody, fitted the override switch no problems last weekend and thankfully not had to use it yet Very Happy

Well you should only need it in standing or slow-moving traffic. Mine is used going flat out up Devon and Cornwall hills. Traffic jams on the Isle of Wight?? Who am I kidding??
