Well done on the MOT cheers

Good, that's enough with the pleasantries. Now, about those nice shiny headlights...?!

Well the headlights  were obviously okay, had to faff with the off side height adjuster but other than that a nice crisp bright light was visible in the beam setter .  I used aluminium tape, the actual duct tape not the cloth based gaffer tape. I made paper templates (not very accurately) copied them on to the tape making sure it was the right side up. Peeled off the backing and used the back of my nail to smooth out any creases . A quick polish with solvol and a truly reflective surface. The tape is heatproof to a certain degree so no problems there. Refited the glass using some cooker door silicone sealer/adhesive and job done. Nothing veiled in secrecy or black magic...just used what I had lying around.

Ah, as simple as that! Thought dark arts must have been involved somewhere as it looked such a neat job. I'm almost disappointed now! Laughing

The only slight issue with that tape is the heat makes the glue soft.

As long as its not been used for long periods at night, especially with the main beam on, it'll be fine.

Certainly didn't with this stuff, i had to warm the plastic housings to make them true when refitting the glass, 10 mins at 140°c and the tape wasn't showing any ill effects. I use this tape at work to protect vulnerable surfaces from radiated exhaust heat, it works fine and its always a pig to remove. We'll see in 364 days tongue

Nice! You've made yourself a good looking pick-up! Although, I thought that you also had something in mind with wood on the back. Or is that something for later? Cool stuf those cyclekarts!
