Looking for a set of 1996 closed van wheels (preferably in the EU)

Post by Lex_Michdebus on Tue Oct 25, 2016 4:55 pm

They should be able to drive on the correct side of the road, but I guess they're all the same? Are all S85 wheels the same?

Saw a set of really badly rusted ones for way too much in The Netherlands (glad I got some pictures first!). I don't mind if they're rusted, but I'm not going to pay more than their scrap metal value when I have to get them powder coated first... Not sure if Woody has a few to spare or has he bbq'ed them all? Thank you very much for your time!

Hi Lex. I am not sure what I have got at the garage as regards wheels in decent nick. Having been invalided with my leg virtually since the fire I haven't been in there for the last 4 weeks.

Having said that, the main problem is getting them sent out to you. If you want 4 Barbecued wheels to repaint then you are welcome to them for the cost of the packaging materials and a drink for my hassle of packing them.
My main concern is what the cost of shipping them. It would have to be in two boxes. It does not cost any more to ship from the Isle of Wight than the Mainland. If you are not in too much of a hurry, I am hoping to get back to a bit of work at the Garage next week. I could weigh a couple of wheels and get an idea of costs.

Can you send me your address to : thehijetmaniow@gmail.com please so I can find out for you.

Those bbq'ed are fine, as long as they're not bent of course. I also have a set of Datsun wheels that deserve a powder coating, so they can join the fun. I'm in no hurry, so take your time. I'll send you my info tomorrow when I get the time. Shipping can't be that expensive, the pound isn't worth that much anymore with that Brexit coming up. Wink

Possibly, but you are forgetting the Niton export duty that has to be levied on all exports from Woodie's yard Very Happy
