A small Phoenix rising from the Ashes.

Post by Woodie on Tue Feb 21, 2017 4:57 pm

About a month ago I was talking with a friend of mine's mum. She has had to give up driving because someone reported her to the DVLA. Sadly her driving was terrible and whoever did report her did Ventnor and herself a big favour. I followed her a couple of months before she was contacted by the DVLA. It was painful following her.

She sold her battered car, and asked me if I could get rid of the junk in the Garage for her. If I wanted any of it to help myself. So I asked her what she was going to do with the Garage. Well, er nothing I suppose, came the reply. So I asked her if I could rent it from her to put my remaining spares in. " Certainly not. I wouldn't entertain it,"
Oh Damn I thought immediately, but then she continued : "I wouldn't dream of charging you a single penny, after all the help you have given us over the years."

Well, what can I say other than WONDERFUL. So I set about clearing it out and took it all up to the tip. It is 20ft long inside and just 8ft wide and 8ft 6inches high ceiling. It has one power, point, one light and water tap inside. I hung on to the work bench, shelving and wall cupboards. I have taken all my remaining new Screwfix shelving units over there ready to unpack and assemble. So I can potter on with the Hi-Jet spares at my own now Snails pace and try to keep a few of the Forum Members supplied with parts. Only one draw-back - - - no mobile phone signal on Three or EE - - - or is it??
