Underseal waxoil advice

Post by kittykamper on Thu Jun 21, 2018 4:05 am

Pat can be a dirty girl at times and often gets a good wash down below. The dreded brown stuff is starting to show on the chassie and im after advice on the best way to treat her. Wacoil stright underneith and all over? Underseal? Wire brush and red oxide? Really want to stop it dead and protect her for the next 20 years. Any problem spots to look out for. Any advice would be greatfullly excepted. I have the time, some of the skills and little of the money.

Which are you talking about? Chassis or the underside of the cab / flatbed?

Personally I would steam clean first - treat any rust with Jenolite or Kure Rust - then I would paint the Chassis Rails using Tractor Paint - great for either brushing or roller mix of both.
The cab and flatbed would also probably benefit from paint and then Waxoil after.
