Disc Pad Retaining Pins

Post by Moley_t on Sun Jul 01, 2018 3:18 pm

Hi all, gone to put some new brake pads on the front and cannot get the two pins that locate and retain the pads to budge. Anybody had similar issue or got a tip? Many thanks.

Mole grips, WD40 - or I use a jungle juice mix old engine oil and hydraulic fluid it is great at freeing things that are crudded up. Squirt on copious amounts of WD40 or other freeing agent - get a grip on the pin with the Mole Grips and work it first to turn by rocking it one way then the other and slowly it will get rid of the crud and come free.
It is tempting to use heat - but resist the temptation you don't want to do in the flexi hose or the caliper
