the door pin is on a seperate bit of wire to the lock and barrel there is a little alloy block with a grub screw in which can come loose if you have central locking it can do all sorts of funny things if it is not set in the right spot.

If you slam the door really hard the door card might just fall off for you.

Worst bit is getting the window winder off without breaking it. Maybe slam it again?!

The mechanism is so simple, i think it may have been inspired by an american.

more than likely but if you remove the door pull handle and remove the screw holding the door release on, you can pull the door card back enough to get to the lock assembly I can't get the window winder off ours But judging by the sliding door ones being both broken I would not be suprised to find that it has been glued on Exclamation

your welcome. Did the noise you made slamming the door wake an American up? If not must try harder next time.
