Fuel Tank Needed

Post by pasiro on Mon Oct 31, 2011 9:04 am

Just found a leak in a the fuel tank (where the two halves join together) and I've been informed that fuel tanks can't be fixed so does anyone know the whereabouts for a T reg (99) 1.3

Thanks
Paul

I don't know of a tank but of course they can be fixed it just depends on the damage to how and how much.

I've used oil/petrol resistant epoxy before now to fix stuff like this. Clean up the area back to metal, then dope it on then layer up some wire mesh and foil to give it some structure. Quality bodge.

One on Ebay. though i'd be wary as the piccy isn't the one being sold...

I have a new one in my loft, if i decide to sell the van it'll be for sale, if i decide to keep the van i'll be dropping the original tank to do the brakepipes/welding and will fit the new one, my old one would be available.
