angled panel in dashbord tray

Post by pww on Sat Feb 11, 2012 8:30 pm

Hi everyone. Not wishing to do my usual trick of forcing panels open and breaking vital bits in the process........can anyone tell me what the little angled panel set into the tray on top of the dashboard is for? I assume it provides access to something awkward to get to. And can anyone tell me how to remove it without damage. This is pure curiosity as I see the thing every day in the middle of the dashboard and it's starting to bug me!

It is a cover for Question but to get it off you need to lift the trailing edge and then pull towards the back door and it's on spring clips so does ping a little when it lets go I think ours has a few notches in it from me and previous owners prising it open to get hold of it there is what looks like a mounting point for something.

thanks rich.......might try to carefully open it and see this mounting point thingy. I will add to my list of things I want to do when I should be doing something more useful!

Cheers.

Under there is the stability control system activation knob.

Or the weapons of mass destruction that David Kelly was after.

Maybe there's just a stick, Diahatsu realized you need one fitted as standard to beat off all the crumpet that cant resist a hijet owner.

I believe the cover is for the facia panel attachment bolts or screws.

Like the advert. Like all good ones it is also true.

I've actually got the same colour Hijet MPV (as above) in my garage right now. Just giving it a bit of a clean up and polish for a mate.
Wasn't any women in there though, like the the one in the pic Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad .
