Wheels need to be black for sure. Maybe with a polished edge. Don't think any other colour will work with the yellow.

Use a turbo and pre carb it with just one carb. Easiest setup to tune.

Van looks amazing!

They never work well like that. R5GTT's never ran right, nor did the old carby charades.

Pre carb or draw through as they put it are a bitch to cold start I'll agree, but the fuel metering is far more controlled, and of course it fuels all cylinders evenly - how can it not?!

Problem with a blow through carb setup is the boost pressure can push the fuel back up the jets and empties out the float bowl - thus why they do all this pressure feeding the carb bowls to counter act it, but this is seriously hard to get right.

In my completely honest opinion, if you want boost you need EFI. Otherwise you'll spend more money and time messing around and breaking your engine. It'll never quite run right. Afraid the words Turbo and Cheap are fully incompatible!!!

Post by ElvHijetter on Sat Sep 22, 2012 5:59 pm

not sure about the problem u stated with blow-tru setup(i'll consider about it).my 1st option is :
trying to copy a blow-tru bike system(kawasaki kz1000)since i had it but the carby were rated at 1000cc at 4cyl so i assume it 250cc each carb.i can only use 3 which mean 750cc of supporting range? my 2nd option was, running it with the actual carb i had in it + 1 external nozzle(infront of carbs)to rich up the mixture when
boost kicks in by using some types of air pressure sensor(i'll take a pic if i had chance,it was installed on my brother car)..last option were go N/A With or without the bike carb since my carb were taken out from an 1.3 hc engine,it should support? Very Happy

i need extra hp for driveablity and mayb some pull..because i changed my rear end diff to 3.5:1
(stock ones were 4.75:1)..i had 4spd gearbox had to run 4600rpm for 100km/h(this is a disaster in highway and it scream like WTF?) and now im running 3400rpm@100km/h(tested with few buddy),i drove my baby 70km each day(college>home).consider the pain revving the engine like that everyday 5/7,so i changed the rear end ratio
my target boost were only 5psi and currently running my engine with double head gasket(i've planned to turbocharged it on my last overhaul) so CR wasnt my concern, fuel mixture is a headache! help me out,i need suggestion Crying or Very sad
5 psi of boost should clear my problem with some extra hp on early gear.

suggestion
1)Draw-tru turbocharge setup(I start my journey 5.30 am everyday Which i dont like if starting it were a problem)
2) ?

Can see you went with the black centres and polished rims on the wheels then.
Looking smart. Well done Elv, you have demonstrated some staying power and the will to go on with this where a lot of us would have thrown the towel in.
